Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Educator to ensure staff have the knowledge and skills for competent, compassionate nursing care across procedural and ambulatory areas. The educator collaborates with Nursing Leadership to assess, design, implement and evaluate educational programs, in-services, and orientation.

The role supports the Division of Nursing and units by enhancing knowledge and improving patient outcomes, reporting to the Professional Development Department.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid RN license in the state of MA (or MA) required.
• 3+ years of recent nursing experience.
• Excellent computer skills (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPIC).
• Demonstrates sound judgment and advanced leadership during emergencies or crises.
• Certification in Specialty Area or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical expertise across specialty area.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking during emergencies or crises.
• Serves as an educator of clinical practice and supports staff development.
• Participates in delegations of patient care assignments based on staff learning needs.
• Participates in selecting new hires and transfers based on qualifications.
