We are seeking qualified nursing faculty to deliver courses, assess students, and contribute to program quality. No prior teaching experience is required—faculty development is provided.

Qualifications

• No previous teaching experience required; Faculty Development training provided.
• Hold a valid, active RN license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or higher degree with coursework in nursing or education.
• At least four years of direct patient care as an RN.
• Clinical experience within last five years; competence per CCR 1420(c).
• Expertise in at least one area: Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, OB-Gyn, Mental Health.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with instructors to prepare, administer, and grade examinations; participate in final evaluations.
• Ensure class attendance and submit grades.
• Assist with planning and assessment of instructional initiatives for program quality.
• Plan orientation for new faculty in theory and clinical facilities.
• Apply adult-learning teaching principles and enhance online activities.
• Maintain student records of attendance and skills check-offs; support data collection.
• Submit program reports to the Program Director on time.
• Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Participate in committee activities supporting the nursing program.
• Attend faculty meetings and supervise student clinical experiences.
• Evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback after clinical observations.
• Maintain clinical attendance records and program data.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate students effectively.
• Verify health and safety compliance for clinical facilities.
• Provide access to students via office hours and electronic communication.
• Participate in student advising activities.
