Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator in the Greater Manchester region to support nursing education, competency management, onboarding, and professional development for colleagues across the system.

The Nursing Professional Development practitioner will collaborate with nursing leadership to foster evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement, guiding education and orientation across practice settings.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment or area of specialty for ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Experience as a preceptor.
• Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH obtained prior to hire date.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Learning Facilitator: uses the educational design process and adult learning principles to bridge gaps identified by learning needs assessment and outcomes evaluation.
• Collaborative Partner: collaborates with nursing leadership to assess learning needs, develops programs, monitors clinical competency and supports action plans.
• Role Development: promotes professional nursing practice and quality patient care as per ANA standards.
• Mentor: advances the profession of nursing and supports ongoing professional learning.
• Competency Management: uses tools to capture knowledge, skill, ability, and performance.
• Orientation: develops and evaluates onboarding programs when roles change.
• Change Agent: drives process improvements at micro to macro levels.
• Champion of Scientific Inquiry: promotes inquiry and use of evidence to advance practice.
