Job summary

Hartford HealthCare seeks a Clinical Nurse Educator in the Greater Manchester region. The Nursing Professional Development practitioner is a Registered Nurse with NPD expertise who influences learner competency and growth within the Nursing Professional Development framework.

This role partners with nursing leadership to advance education, onboarding, competency management, and evidence-based practice, while supporting regional practice excellence across Hartford HealthCare.

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year in an acute care environment or area of specialty for ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Experience as a preceptor.
• Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH prior to hire.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire.
• BLS required.
• Demonstrates ability to develop, deliver and evaluate educational programs.
• Working knowledge of high reliability and LEAN process improvement strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership and commitment to education for quality improvement.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Knowledge of unit-based orientation plans.
• Strong skills in educational needs assessments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Learning Facilitator: bridge knowledge gaps through learning needs assessment and outcomes evaluation.
• Collaborative Partner: work with nursing leadership to assess needs, develop programs, monitor competency, and support inter-professional learning.
• Role Development: promote professional nursing practice per ANA standards and develop practice from novice to expert.
• Mentor: advance nursing practice and contribute to professional development.
• Competency Management: use tools to capture knowledge, skills and performance.
• Orientation: develop and evaluate onboarding programs during role changes.
• Change Agent: apply change management to drive outcomes.
• Champion of Scientific Inquiry: promote inquiry and evidence-informed practice.
