Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Safety Specialist to implement and administer project safety programs, ensuring compliance with ES&H standards and regulatory requirements. The role serves as a resource to line management for a proactive prevention program and operates under general supervision to apply IS concepts and procedures.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, implementing controls, incident investigations, training delivery, and maintaining safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires BS/MS in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering.
• Experience: 4+ years with BS or 2+ years with MS; CSP preferred.
• Associates path with 6+ years experience also acceptable.
• HS diploma with 8+ years experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Support Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture and promote safety and quality.
• Provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress.
• Identify workplace hazards and develop hazard controls and mitigation strategies.
• Support worker safety, injury/event response and case management.
• Ensure implementation of safety and health rules, policies and procedures.
• Participate in pre-task and safety meetings.
• Investigate incidents/events and prepare reports.
• Maintain knowledge of government agency requirements.
• Assist in development and maintenance of IS programs and training.
• Prepare technical reports and compliance documents.
