Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Nuclear Safety Engineer to support in Aiken, SC or Oak Ridge, TN. You will develop and maintain safety basis documents and conduct hazard analyses of nuclear operations, defining controls to mitigate hazards and preparing safety reviews. BS Degree with 2+ years experience is required.

Familiarity with DOE Nuclear Safety Analysis or NRC Licensing requirements is preferred. You will coordinate with DOE/NRC and customers, preparing safety documentation and ensuring safety basis

Qualifications

• BS degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Familiarity with DOE Nuclear Safety Analysis or NRC Licensing requirements preferred.
• Ability to obtain facility credentials/authorization and work at Aiken, SC or Oak Ridge, TN.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety basis documents and safety basis program procedures.
• Perform hazard analyses of nuclear operations, define functional specifications, and recommend controls to mitigate hazards.
• Develop portions of nuclear safety analyses and documents; assist in accident analysis and data generation.
• Interface with customers in nuclear safety reviews and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Ensure quality of safety documentation and adherence to required standards.
