Job summary

S&ME is seeking an experienced engineer or geologist for a full-time position focused on civil, environmental, and geotechnical projects in the nuclear sector. Responsibilities include project quality assurance management and field coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or geology, with 5+ years of experience in geotechnical investigations or related fields. The role requires flexibility to work in several locations including Charlotte and Knoxville.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical investigations, construction, or engineering projects.
• Experience with nuclear projects is a plus.
• Consulting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Field coordination of drilling operations to collect soil samples.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis focused on project success.
• Prepare project proposals and reports.
• Create detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
• Support project and client interactions.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to travel and work a rotational schedule

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to stand for extended periods

Routine lifting and carrying of 40-50 lbs
