Job summary

Construction Material Testing in the United States seeks a Lead Auditor to own the audit program under ASME NQA-1. You will plan annual audit schedules, lead internal and supplier audits with a team of auditors and specialists, write audit reports, and verify corrective actions to closure.

Qualifications

• Current qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor, or qualifiable within 90 days.
• 5+ years in nuclear quality assurance.
• Hands-on auditing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
• Working knowledge of construction materials testing, special inspection, or geotechnical services preferred.
• ASQ CQA a plus.
• Writes audit reports that NRC inspectors could follow without a conversation.
• Comfortable delivering findings to the people who caused them.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the audit schedule for the nuclear QA program.
• Lead audits end to end—notification, checklist, entrance meeting, evidence, findings, exit meeting, report.
• Supervise auditors and technical specialists on the audit team.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers of safety-related items and services.
• Recommend supplier-list changes and perform surveillances.
• Classify findings, issue corrective actions, verify effectiveness, and close them with evidence.
• Maintain lead-auditor and auditor qualification records and support external audits.
