Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical/Systems Engineer with a strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and power engineering to work on nuclear and thermal systems. You will size equipment, perform calculations, and prepare technical reports for client reviews.

Qualifications

• Requires BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, General Engineering or Systems Engineering with strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and energy conversion.
• Knowledge of applying mechanical engineering principles to project design and production of technical plans and drawings.
• Strong numerical computation and problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Directly apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and power plant engineering knowledge.
• Prepare calculations, specifications and technical reports to support client recommendations.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation and selection for project needs.
• Support project teams with system engineering, including design, modification and analysis of power plant mechanical systems.
• Potential travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site verification.
