Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering professional to contribute to the Nuclear Power Group. You will engage in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and energy conversion while preparing technical reports and supporting design reviews for client projects.

The role involves equipment sizing, optimization, and collaboration with project teams across design and field verification activities. A strong background in thermal systems and turbomachinery is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with strong academic background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, power engineering, turbomachinery, thermal systems, and energy conversion.
• ABET-accredited program is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Conduct equipment sizing, optimization evaluation, and selection per project needs.
• Support project teams with system engineering, including design, modification, and analysis of power plant mechanical systems.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.
