Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical/Energy engineer in the Nuclear Power Group to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics in design and optimization of power plant systems. This role involves calculations, specifications, and reports to support client recommendations and may include travel for design reviews and site verification.

Candidates should have a BS or MS in engineering with strong numerical skills and excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General, or Systems Engineering with interest in thermodynamics and energy conversion.
• Knowledge of design techniques and producing technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Strong analytical and numerical problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and power engineering to project solutions.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, and technical reports to support client recommendations.
• Support project teams with system engineering and design of mechanical systems in power plants.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification when required.
