Job summary

NuScale Power is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer 3 to design and review NSSS mechanical components and related interfaces. You will prepare drawings, calculations, and scopes of work and work with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve complex design challenges.

The role supports proof-of-concept testing and collaborates with Licensing on regulatory efforts for domestic and international projects, while interfacing with system engineers to define mechanical and electrical requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• PE license is desirable but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time relevant experience.
• Knowledge of ASME Codes and 10 CFR 50; familiarity with IEEE 323, 344, 317, 383, 384, 741.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, and scopes of work for NSSS mechanical components such as valves, drive mechanisms, heaters, and penetrations.
• Coordinate with system engineers and interface design engineers for mechanical and electrical requirements.
• Provide technical oversight of vendor scopes and review proposals and deliverables.
• Support test programs and collaborate with Licensing on regulatory efforts.
