Job summary

Nuclear Energy Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 4 for NSSS Vessels & Structures. You will perform design and stress analyses of pressure vessels and primary equipment supports in accordance with ASME BPVC Section III and NRC guidelines to support safety-critical nuclear components.

This 40-hour/week contract runs through 2026 with potential into 2027. Remote work within the U.S. is possible, with travel as required. Leadership of the NSSS Component Analysis Group is expected.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering from ABET accredited college; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of full-time relevant experience with ANSYS stress analysis.
  • Experience with ASME Section III NB/NF; DOE 10 CFR Part 810 eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents evaluations of components to ASME Section III rules.
  • Lead NSSS Component Analysis Group; provide mentoring to staff.
  • Interacts with other disciplines to coordinate design activities.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements.
