Job summary

NuVision Engineering, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Analyst to join the MSIP team in Pittsburgh, delivering high-quality FEA and engineering support for MSIP deployment in nuclear reactors. This role blends analytical work with field awareness to provide practical, safety-focused solutions.

You will use ANSYS Mechanical, CAD tools like SolidWorks/AutoCAD, and collaborate with field teams. Travel to sites is expected; strong communication is essential to convey modeling assumptions and results

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical (APDL and Workbench).
  • Experience with Mathcad or similar mathematical computing tools.
  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Sections III and XI).
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to U.S. and international nuclear plants.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) of nonlinear systems including reactor vessel welds and piping.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of modeling assumptions and results.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and field teams to improve MSIP equipment and processes.
  • Support mechanical evaluations, thermal assessments, and structural integrity reviews.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites for meetings and outages.
  • Provide on-call support and presence during project execution and outage windows.
