Job summary

The Nuclear Company is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead design, analysis, and maintenance of complex mechanical systems for nuclear plants or advanced reactor projects. You will collaborate with a multi-discipline team, applying AMSE/ANSI codes to ensure safety and quality, and support corporate initiatives and construction projects.

This role requires an ABET-accredited degree, an EIT (PE a plus), and 8+ years of engineering experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• EIT license; PE preferred.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ANSYS.
• Ability to obtain security clearance for a nuclear facility.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of mechanical components and systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare or review engineering modification packages.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
• Diagnose mechanical equipment failures, support root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct calculations and analyses to ensure structural integrity and performance.
