Job summary

NuVision Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Analyst to join the MSIP team in Pittsburgh. You will perform nonlinear FEA of reactor-related components using ANSYS Mechanical and contribute to MSIP process improvements while delivering technical reports and ensuring safety-focused outcomes.

The role involves field activities, occasional international travel, and close collaboration with engineering and field teams to support outages and plant projects in the nuclear sector.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical (APDL and Workbench).
  • Experience with Mathcad or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Sections III and XI).
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to U.S. nuclear plants and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) of nonlinear systems using ANSYS Mechanical.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of modeling assumptions and results.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and field teams to improve MSIP equipment and processes.
  • Support additional analyses such as mechanical evaluations, thermal assessments, and structural reviews.
  • Participate in field activities and travel domestically and internationally to customer sites.
