Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in Idaho Falls invites qualified students to join our internship program on the Advanced Test Reactor campus. You will work on stochastic neutronics modeling to link neutron fluence with aging effects in reflector regions, using past inspection data as benchmarks.

The team operates a 4x10 onsite schedule and may offer course credit for the internship. Eligible candidates are enrolled full-time in ABET-accredited STEM programs with a 3.0 GPA, and must have CPT/OPT

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate STEM program at an ABET-accredited college/university.
• Minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT).
• Current resume or CV.
• Unofficial transcripts (include current and completed degree programs).
• Current class schedule and number of credits.

Responsibilities

• Leverage results of stochastic neutronics modeling at the Advanced Test Reactor to correlate tallied neutron fluence in the beryllium reflector with age-related effects such as cracking.
• Characterize aging in reflector regions and benchmark against past inspections.
