Job summary

Wellstar seeks a Nuclear Medicine technologist to deliver safe, age-appropriate imaging services. You will prepare patients, operate NM equipment, and ensure quality diagnostic studies per department procedures.

The role requires independent judgment and the ability to adjust techniques to optimize image quality while maintaining patient safety and comfort. This PRN position offers up to 40 hours per week with shift differential incentives.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Technology required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical patient care experience required; 1 year Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
• ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech required at hire; BLS certification required or instructor-level BLS.

Responsibilities

• Operates nuclear medicine equipment and positions patients to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
• Verifies clinician orders and ensures patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Maintains infection control, proper calibration, and prepares all studies for radiologist review.
