Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under physician direction.
• Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
• Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors.
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Maintains quality control of all equipment.
• Safeguards patient health information privacy.
• Attends required meetings.
• Performs related work as required.

Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist

Willowbrook Cardiovascular Associates is adding to our team and in search of a Full-Time Nuclear Medicine / PET CT Technologist in Houston, TX. This position is based in our Dotson Road office location.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
• Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses, under direction of Physician
• Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies on patients as prescribed by physicians, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
• Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
• Maintains quality control of all equipment
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Attends required meetings
• Performs related work as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
• Must be confident with working independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting.
