Job summary

Willowbrook Cardiovascular Associates is seeking a Full-Time Nuclear Medicine / PET CT Technologist in Houston, TX, based at the Dotson Road office. The role requires graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology program and ARRT or NMTCB registration.

You will perform cardiac PET CT studies, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, ensure patient safety, and maintain equipment quality in a fast-paced private practice.

Qualifications

  • Must graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
  • Must be ARRT or NMTCB registered.
  • 2 years of experience preferred but not required.
  • Open to new graduates.
  • BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients to secure cooperation and test accuracy.
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals, calculate and administer doses under physician direction.
  • Perform diagnostic exams including cardiac PET CT studies and treadmill supervision.
  • Measure radioactivity with specialized detectors.
  • Follow radiation safety and proper disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Maintain quality control of all equipment.
  • Protect patient privacy and attend required meetings.
  • Perform related duties as needed.

Willowbrook Cardiovascular Associates is adding to our team and in search of a Full-Time Nuclear Medicine / PET CT Technologist in Houston, TX. This position is based in our Dotson Road office location.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
  • Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses, under direction of Physician
  • Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies on patients as prescribed by physicians, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
  • Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors
  • Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
  • Mantains quality control of all equipment
  • Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
  • Attends required meetings
  • Performs related work as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Must be confident with working independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB
  • 2 years of experience preferred not required.
  • Open to new Graduates
  • BLS/CPR Certification
