Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is seeking a Lead Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist to join our Houston, TX team. The role oversees Cardiac PET CT studies, dose preparation, and patient coordination in a busy cardiology practice.

The ideal candidate is ARRT/NMTCB certified, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and comfortable working independently in a high-volume setting. BLS/CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
  • Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB.
  • BLS/CPR Certification required.
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy private cardiology practice.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and optimal test results.
  • Prepare radiopharmaceutical solutions, calculate doses, and administer doses under physician direction.
  • Perform diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies, including treadmill supervision and IV starts.
  • Operate and monitor radiation safety, dosimetry, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain equipment quality control and patient dosing records; manage hot lab tasks.
  • Respond to audits in a timely manner and support PACs/eMR workflows.
  • Manage patient volume, scheduling, and communication of appointment and test details with RCM.

Lead Nuclear Medicine/PET CT TechnologistWillowbrook Cardiovascular Associates is adding to our team and in search of a full-time Lead Nuclear Medicine / PET CT Technologist in Houston, TX. This position is based in our Dotson Road office location.Duties and ResponsibilitiesExplains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test resultsPrepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses, under direction of PhysicianPerforms diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies on patients as prescribed by physicians, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectorsFollows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materialsMaintains quality control of all equipmentMaintains records of patient dosing, hot lab management, and regulatory requirementsMaintains dosimetry monitoring programResponds to all audits in a timely mannerOversees claim reconciliation within PACs system and eMRManage patient volume and schedulingManage patient communication of appointment details, test details, and basic financial responsibility info provided by RCM teamKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skillsLeadership experience preferredMust be confident with working independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting.RequirementsMust be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology TechnologyMust be registered with ARRT or NMTCB2 years of experience preferred.BLS/CPR CertificationAbout Houston, TX:Houston offers a unique blend of affordability, career opportunities, and cultural diversity, making it an attractive place to live.
