Job summary

Houston Cardiovascular Associates is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Houston team. The role supports private cardiology practice activities, performing Cardiac PET studies and treadmill-related procedures on a flexible, part-time schedule.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology program, ARRT or NMTCB registration, and a minimum of 2 years of experience, along with BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• Registered with ARRT or NMTCB.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in nuclear medicine or cardiology settings.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and accurate results.
• Prepare radiopharmaceuticals, calculate and administer doses under physician direction.
• Perform diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET studies as prescribed.
• Measure radioactivity with Geiger counters and scintillation detectors.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and dispose of materials properly.
• Maintain equipment quality control and protect patient privacy.
• Attend required meetings and perform related tasks.

Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist

Houston Cardiovascular Associates is adding to the team and in search of a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Houston, TX.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
• Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administers doses, under direction of Physician
• Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET studies on patients as prescribed by physician, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
• Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
• Maintains quality control of all equipment
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Attends required meetings
• Performs related work as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
• Must be experienced and work independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting

Requirements
