Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a range of imaging procedures in a fast-paced department. This PRN position supports patient care with independent judgment in protocol selection and equipment operation.

The candidate should have an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech, and 1 year of clinical experience. BLS is required at hire.

Qualifications

• Associates Radiologic Technology degree required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience caring for patients.
• Nuclear medicine experience preferred.
• ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech required.
• BLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Adjust technique to obtain best study and maintain image quality.
• Report equipment problems to supervisor or service provider.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain equipment per policy.
• Verify clinician orders and obtain clinical history.
• Ensure proper patient identification and correct marker use.
• Review images and release patients.
• Respond to emergencies and restock crash cart.
• Assist other technologists in all modalities when needed.
• Follow preprocedural verification and Time Out processes.
