Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Maintains current license to practice in the State of Rhode Island.
  • Must hold current Nuclear Medicine ARRT or CNMT certification.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff effectively.
  • Ability to operate nuclear medicine equipment and calculate radiopharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and performs patient studies and analysis as outlined in procedures.
  • Operates gamma cameras, uptake units, dose calibrator and related equipment.
  • Processes images and inputs information in PACS; verifies images for radiologist review.
  • Bills patients accurately for supplies and codes.
  • Performs quality assurance on imaging and monitoring instruments.
  • Performs daily wipe tests and prepares radiopharmaceutical kits.
  • Dispenses and administers radiopharmaceuticals with accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintains safety and disposal records for radioactive materials.
  • Transports patients and performs housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Trains new staff and participates in ongoing professional development.
