Job summary

Qualifications

  • Completion of accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Current Rhode Island license to practice.
  • Certification by ARRT NM or NMTCB.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, staff and physicians.
  • Ability to operate Nuclear Medicine equipment as per standard procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety.
  • Calculate and administer radiopharmaceutical dosages.
  • Operate gamma cameras and scanners to acquire images.
  • Adjust equipment controls to ensure image quality.
  • Perform quality control on all Nuclear Medicine equipment.
  • Handle patient charts, scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Assist in Nuclear Medicine training and supervision of students.
  • Maintain lab and exam area cleanliness and organization.
