Job summary

The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform routine studies and support daily nuclear medicine operations. You will assist radiology physicians, operate imaging equipment, and ensure quality and safety in patient care for adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities include image processing, PACS verification, daily QA, and maintaining strict radiation safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Maintains current license to practice in Rhode Island.
  • Must hold current Nuclear Medicine ARRT or CNMT certification.
  • Ability to interface with patients and hospital staff with professionalism.
  • Experience with nuclear medicine equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform patient studies per manual and physician instructions.
  • Operate gamma cameras, uptake units, dose calibrator, and related equipment.
  • Process and verify images in PACS; bill for supplies and ensure code accuracy.
  • Perform daily quality assurance on imaging and radiopharmaceutical handling.
  • Maintain radiation safety and assist with training and accreditation tasks.
