Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic studies and radiopharmaceutical therapies using Nuc Med and PET/CT equipment. You will review radiology orders, verify patient data and ensure safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves IV administration, pregnancy screening, image transfer to PACS and collaboration with radiologists. Cross-training across modalities may be involved.

Qualifications

• Education: College Diploma or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology or Related Field.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic studies and radiopharmaceutical administration using Nuc Med and/or PED/CT equipment.
• Reviews cases with radiologist when appropriate.
• Administers IV radiopharmaceuticals via existing IV line or veni-puncture and places IV line.
• Screens patients for pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing if applicable.
• Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides necessary medical history for Radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains imaging equipment and workplace environment including supply inventories.
• Ensures patient, visitor and environmental safety.
• May instruct students and new staff; may lead in absence.
