Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of nuclear medicine diagnostic, therapeutic and QC procedures.
• Knowledge of NRC regulations.
• Ability to calculate accurate dosages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation.
• Operate gamma cameras to generate nuclear medicine images.
• Perform post-processing of medical images.
• Assess radiopharmaceutical distribution with probes.
• Adhere to safety standards minimizing radiation exposure.
• Explain exam procedures and safety precautions to patients.
• Describe exam duration and set patient expectations.
• Provide exemplary customer service and reassure patients.
• Perform general patient care procedures.
• Calibrate and quality-check nuclear medicine equipment.
• Receive and release radioactive packages/materials.
• Dispose and store radiopharmaceuticals and materials per NRC safety rules.
• Instruct students, residents, and staff.
• Assist with onboarding and training of staff.
• Order supplies and participate in research projects.
• Attend meetings and conferences; stay updated on field advances.
