Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and/or nuclear cardiology procedures. The role requires maintaining quality control, safety, and regulatory compliance while supporting students and junior technologists.

The candidate should have completed an accredited Nuclear Medicine program and possess required certifications and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program accredited by either JRCNMT or NMTCB.
• 1 year of experience required.
• AR DMS/ARRT/NMTCB certification required upon hire; BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and/or Nuclear Cardiology procedures according to all protocols and procedures and ALARA guidelines.
• Reviews exam requisitions and notes pertinent information.
• Determines quality of radiopharmaceuticals from suppliers.
• Explains procedures and safety precautions to patients and assists during tests.
• Protects patients and staff during all exams.
• Maintains required records, licenses, and files per federal/state regulations.
• Maintains proficiency for advanced imaging in nuclear medicine.
• Assists with planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate sequences.
• Mentors students and junior technologists.
• Ensures department meets regulatory requirements.
• Post-processes advanced imaging with applications such as Syngo Via.

Education
