Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a Nuclear Medicine PET Technologist for a part-time role across multiple sites (Anna Jaques Hospital, Emerson Hospital & York Hospital). You will operate PET equipment, ensure patient safety, and coordinate with radiologists.

A valid ARRT/NMTCB, state license, and CPR are required, with a minimum of one year in nuclear medicine. The role supports a 24-hour coverage model with emphasis on patient comfort, safety protocols, and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
  • Inform patients about exam procedures and obtain their consent.
  • Record patient data and forward PET data to Radiologist after exams.
  • Refile cases and assist clerical staff as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and re-supply rooms between exams.

## Nuclear Med PET TechnologistApply: Shields PET/CT at Anna Jaques Hospital: Part time: Posted Today: R-101091**Job Summary:**In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment. This is a 24 hr Part-time role. Shift locations: Anna Jacques Hospital, Emerson Hospital & York Hospital.**Job Description:****What you will do:*** Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.* Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.* Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.* Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.* Performs all hot lab responsibilities.* Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.* Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.* Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.* Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.* Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.* Provide and issue films when appropriate.* Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.* Refilm cases as time allows* Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.* Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.**Required Qualifications****What you need:*** Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work* Must be certified in CPR* Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.* A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.* Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.**Additional Job Description:**Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position. The incumbent will perform work of a lower or equivalent classification as required or directed, and work of higher classification for training and development purposes or as situationally warranted.
