Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a PET technologist to provide a professional, caring atmosphere across multiple patient groups in a fast-paced clinical setting. This is a 24 hr Part-time role with shifts at Anna Jacques Hospital, Emerson Hospital & York Hospital.

Responsibilities include operating PET equipment, performing hot lab tasks, patient positioning, data entry, and collaboration with Radiology staff.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work.
  • Must be CPR certified.
  • Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
  • A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be proficient in starting IVs.
  • Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
  • Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
  • Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
  • Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
  • Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
  • Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
  • Provide and issue films when appropriate.
  • Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
  • Refilm cases as time allows.
  • Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.

Job Summary:In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment. This is a 24 hr Part-time role. Shift locations: Anna Jacques Hospital, Emerson Hospital & York Hospital.Job Description:What you will do:Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.Performs all hot lab responsibilities.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films when appropriate.Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Refilm cases as time allowsAssist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Required QualificationsWhat you need:Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to workMust be certified in CPRMust be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.Additional Job Description:Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
