Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a PET technologist to join the Sandwich and Harwich locations on Cape Cod. This 30-hour/week role runs Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, providing patient-focused imaging in a fast-paced setting.

You will operate PET equipment, perform hot lab tasks, ensure patient safety, document data, and assist radiologists by delivering films and relaying results. Qualifications include ARRT or NMTCB certification, state licensure, CPR, and at least one year in nuclear medicine;

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current state license to practice in the employed state.
  • ARRT and/or NMTCB nuclear medicine certification is required.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of one year nuclear medicine experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and IV placement skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Shields Health Care policies to ensure patient safety.
  • Explain exam procedures to patients at their level of understanding.
  • Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure radiotracers.
  • Perform hot lab tasks and prepare samples as needed.
  • Position patients comfortably and maintain contact during exams.
  • Document data in the Tech Data Entry system and issue films when appropriate.
  • Forward PET data to Radiologist and assist with clerical duties as needed.
  • Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms.

Job Summary:In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.30 hour postion: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: Cape Cod Sandwich/Harwich LocationsJob Description:This is a 30 hour/week position (3 ten-hour shifts):Sunday, Monday & Tuesday at Sandwich & Harwich locations on Cape CodWhat you will do:Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.Performs all hot lab responsibilities.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films when appropriate.Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Refilm cases as time allowsAssist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Required QualificationsWhat you need:Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to workMust be certified in CPRMust be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.Additional Job Description:Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
