Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a PET technologist to deliver a professional, caring environment in a fast-paced clinical setting across multiple locations (Melrose, Framingham, Dedham, Attleboro, Tufts area).

You will operate PET equipment, inform patients about exams, and ensure safety and accuracy throughout the procedure. A valid state license, CPR, and ARRT/NMTCB registration are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed in state nuclear medicine practice.
• CPR certification required.
• ARRT or NMTCB registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow Shields Health Care policies for patient safety.
• Explain exam details to patients at their level.
• Operate PET equipment to image and measure isotopes.
• Perform hot lab responsibilities and prep work.
• Position patients for comfort and safety during scans.
• Record data in the Tech Data Entry program.
• Forward PET data to radiologist after exams.
• Assist clerical staff as needed.

Job Summary:In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.Melrose, Tufts, Framingham, Dedham, AttleboroJob Description:What you will do:· Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.· Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.· Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.· Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.· Performs all hot lab responsibilities.· Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.· Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.· Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.· Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.· Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.· Provide and issue films when appropriate.· Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.· Refilm cases as time allows· Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.· Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Required QualificationsWhat you need:· Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work· Must be certified in CPR· Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.· A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.· Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
