Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a PET technologist for our Sandwich or Harwich locations on Cape Cod. This 10-hour/week role includes Sundays 6a-4:30pm or 7a-5:30pm, with duties in image production, hot lab tasks, and data entry.

You must hold MA state licensure, CPR, ARRT or NMTCB registration, and have at least one year of nuclear medicine experience. Strong communication, IV skills, and the ability to lift 25 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
• Must assist patients with mobility.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols for patient safety.
• Inform patients about the exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to image and measure isotopes.
• Perform hot lab responsibilities.
• Position patients for comfort and accuracy during exams.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with patients during exams.
• Record patient data into the Tech Data Entry system.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET data to Radiologist after exams.
• Refilm cases as time allows.
• Assist clerical staff as needed.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms.

Job Summary:In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the PET technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.Job Description:This is a 10-hour/week position, either at our Sandwich or Harwich locations on Cape Cod:Sundays 6a-4:30pm OR 7a-5:30pmWhat you will do:Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.Performs all hot lab responsibilities.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films when appropriate.Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Refilm cases as time allowsAssist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Required QualificationsWhat you need:Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to workMust be certified in CPRMust be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.A minimum of one-year prior nuclear medicine experience is required.
