Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Greenville, SC seeks a senior mechanical or chemical engineer to design or review nuclear power plant systems, including modification packages, drawings, analyses, specifications, and vendor evaluations. Hybrid schedule with in‑office work 3 days per week.

Requirements include BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and 10+ years in the power industry; PE is beneficial but not required; familiarity with codes and standards is

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 10+ years of experience in the power industry.
  • PE license is beneficial, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear power plant mechanical design.

Responsibilities

  • Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
  • Prepare or review drawings for nuclear plant systems.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications and operation.
  • Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
  • Study and evaluate modification options for operating plants.
  • Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
  • Interface with clients on site locations and present engineering status.
  • Lead engineering project teams.

Education

ABET-accredited ME/ChemE degree
