Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Knoxville with a focus on nuclear power plant systems design. The role involves designing and reviewing modification packages, drafting mechanical drawings, and performing engineering analyses for plant modifications.

A BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited) and at least 3 years of relevant experience are required; PE is beneficial but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in mechanical engineering (BS or MS).
• Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design.
• PE license is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations for plant modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating plants.
• Lead engineering project teams.
