Job summary

NuVision Engineering, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Analyst to join the MSIP team in Pittsburgh. You will perform FEA on reactor vessel welds, piping, and tooling using ANSYS Mechanical and contribute to MSIP process improvements with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, proficiency in ANSYS, and passion for rigorous analysis. Domestic and international travel may be required to support outages and field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical (APDL and Workbench).
• Experience with Mathcad or similar mathematical computing tools.
• Familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Sections III & XI).
• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) of nonlinear systems using ANSYS Mechanical.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting modeling assumptions and results.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and field teams to improve MSIP equipment and processes.
• Support mechanical evaluations, thermal analyses, and structural integrity reviews as needed.
• Participate in field activities, including domestic and international travel to customer sites.
• Provide on-call support and local presence during project execution and outage windows.
