Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States seeks a senior mechanical/chemical engineer to design and review nuclear power plant systems, including modification packages, drawings, and vendor evaluations.

You will lead project teams, develop cost estimates, and interface with clients on site or office locations, with a hybrid work schedule. A PE is beneficial; ABET‑accredited degree and 7+ years in power required, with opportunities to apply AI and automation to workflows.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 7+ years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare functional mechanical drawings and drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study options and evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear plants.
