Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Materials and Supplier Integrator for the Nuclear Materials and Procurement Group to lead procurement for HFIR and related reactor systems. You will manage acquisitions, supplier performance, and contract administration, aligning with ORNL’s values of safety, integrity, and teamwork.

The role requires a BS/BA in a relevant field and 5+ years of procurement experience, including DOE/DOD/NRC contexts.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in a relevant field is required.
• Experience in DOE, DOD, or NRC purchasing, supply chain, inventory control, and related business skills preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, take the initiative, and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and maintenance to manage acquisitions, contracts, and administration supporting reactor components.
• Lead complex HFIR procurement activities including fabrication of safety-related components and materials.
• Develop acquisition strategies: quotes, proposals, source selection, objectives, cost reduction, and inventory management.
• Apply engineering specs, codes, standards, and QA requirements to procure nuclear material.
• Communicate opportunities and plans to project teams and leadership to support procurement strategy.
• Supervise supplier performance and ensure delivery schedules, payment provisions, and contract data reporting.
• Manage supplier relations and resolve non-technical contract issues.
• Serve as primary contact for company and supplier communications.
• Develop warehouse management and optimization strategies.
• Participate in supplier base assessments, cost reduction projects, and audits.
