Job summary

X Energy, LLC in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Procurement Engineer to own and lead the supply chain strategy for first-of-a-kind nuclear fuel and reactor programs. You will identify, qualify, and develop the supplier base, negotiate terms, and drive category plans to meet schedules and cost targets.

The role requires extensive experience in engineering or supply chain, nuclear industry familiarity, and a strong capability in supplier management and risk mitigation. Onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science required.
• Typically ten years in engineering or supply chain with at least two in supply chain.
• Experience with developing scopes of work for services and procurement requirements.
• Experience with supplier negotiations and project planning.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop equipment and service suppliers to establish a robust supply chain.
• Develop strategic supply chain plans to deliver value to the company and customers.
• Prepare category plans and perform spend and risk analyses; plan negotiations.
• Conduct negotiations regarding contract costing, schedule, and technical requirements; establish long-term supplier agreements.
• Manage equipment and service contracts to ensure on-time delivery to project schedule.
• Provide direction on commercial and contracting strategy to the Engineering, Procurement, and other units.
• Review specifications and equipment data to ensure requirements are met.
• Coordinate with QA to qualify suppliers and define QA requirements.
