Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States seeks an experienced LR/SLR engineer to support license extensions and post-approval activities across the US nuclear fleet. The role focuses on scoping, aging management reviews, and program development.

Candidates with NRC submittals, inspections, and aging management programs are preferred; responsibilities include coordinating with regulatory teams, ensuring compliance, and maintaining project documentation.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in engineering, licensing engineering, program engineering, or nuclear industry.
• Experience delivering technical documentation in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with QA/QC and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Perform system scoping, screening, and aging management review of nuclear plant systems in support of SLR applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and regulatory teams to ensure NRC compliance.
• Develop program basis documentation, data validation, and configuration control.
• Roadmap required inspections to comply with NRC regulations and license renewal commitments.
• Review inspection work orders to ensure license renewal criteria is met.
• Interact with clients and NRC as a technical expert.
• Maintain awareness of aging management regulations, approaches, and operating experience.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
