Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced License Renewal (LR) and Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) engineer in the nuclear industry to support license extensions and post-approval activities across the U.S. nuclear fleet.

The role requires expertise in LR/SLR applications, NRC submittals and inspections, and collaboration with engineering and regulatory teams to ensure compliance and sustain safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in engineering/licensing/program design within nuclear or highly regulated industries.
• Experience delivering accurate, high-quality technical documentation in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation systems, nuclear QA/QC protocols, and configuration management.
• Strong systems thinking with a balance of innovation, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform System Scoping, Screening, and Aging Management Review for SLR applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and regulatory teams to ensure NRC compliance.
• Prepare engineering program basis documentation, data validation, and change tracking.
• Plan inspections to meet NRC regulations and license renewal commitments.
• Review inspection work orders to confirm renewal criteria.
• Interact with clients or NRC as a technical expert.
• Monitor aging-management regulation changes and operating experiences.
• Foster continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
