Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced License Renewal (LR) and Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) engineer to support license extensions and post-approval activities across the US nuclear fleet.

Ideal candidates have LR/SLR experience, nuclear engineering background, and familiarity with NRC submissions and inspections. Role involves scoping, aging management, and coordination with regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, licensing engineering, program engineering, design engineering, power plant inspection, or AI, ideally within nuclear or regulated industry.
• Experience delivering accurate, high quality technical documentation in a highly regulated environment.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation systems, nuclear QA/QC protocols, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Perform System Scoping, Screening, and Aging Management Review of nuclear plant systems for SLR applications per NEI 17-01.
• Collaborate with engineering and regulatory teams to ensure NRC compliance and license commitments.
• Develop and maintain engineering program basis documentation, data validation, and change tracking.
• Plan inspections to meet NRC regulations and license renewal commitments.
• Review inspection work orders to verify license renewal criteria are met.
• Engage with clients and NRC in a technical expert role.
