Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced License Renewal (LR) and Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) engineer to support nuclear plant license extensions and post-approval activities across the U.S. nuclear fleet.

The role emphasizes scoping, aging management, and regulatory compliance within a collaborative, cross-functional team. Ideal candidates will have hands-on LR/SLR experience, familiarity with NEI 95-10/17-01, NRC processes, and a track record of delivering high-quality documentation

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering high-quality technical documentation in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation systems, QA/QC protocols, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Perform system scoping, screening, and aging management review for SLR apps per NEI 17-01.
• Collaborate with engineering/regulatory teams to ensure NRC compliance.
• Prepare engineering program basis docs, data validation, change tracking, and config control.
• Plan inspections to meet NRC rules and renewal commitments.
• Review inspection work orders for license renewal criteria.
• Interact with clients and NRC as a technical expert.
• Monitor aging management regulation updates and industry experience.
• Promote continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
