Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Associate in the Nuclear Power Group to support LR/SLR license renewal and post-approval activities across the U.S. nuclear fleet from Reston, VA.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the design and analysis of nuclear, industrial, or DOE facilities.
• Experience in managing and/or participating in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in managing medium-to-large critical projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in providing guidance, mentoring, and training to staff engineers
• Licensed Operator for a Utility
• Experience delivering accurate, high-quality technical documentation in a highly regulated environment (nuclear, DOE, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with engineering documentation systems, nuclear QA/QC protocols, and configuration management processes.
• Strong systems thinking skills, balancing innovation with compliance, safety, and traceability.
• Demonstrated ability to work with work management systems (e.g., WOs, PMs, planning tools) and translate technical requirements into implementable work packages and schedules.
• Proven ability to collaborate with SMEs and field organizations to converge on practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• License renewal & aging management implementation: support LR/SLR implementation activities including procedure changes, PM basis and frequency development, WO development and review, and nuclear program basis document updates.
• Roadmap required inspections and aging management activities to comply with NRC regulations, LR/SLR commitments, and applicable AMPs.
• Define and maintain sample populations and inspection scopes and ensure results tie back to LR/SLR commitments.
• Work Management & Coordination: use work management systems to identify and capture LR/SLR opportunities in online and outage scopes; screen large WO and PM lists to identify high-value inspection opportunities; coordinate with schedulers, planners, and field teams to embed aging management in realistic sequences.
• Engineering basis, documentation & configuration control: develop and maintain AMP/PM basis documentation; data validation, engineering change tracking, and configuration control; support NRC commitment tracking and closure.
• Stakeholder engagement & SME coordination: interact with clients and NRC as a technical expert; work with SMEs, program owners, and field leads to refine scopes, aging mechanisms, and documentation expectations.
• Regulatory awareness & operating experience: stay current with LR/SLR changes, NRC/NEI/OE guidance; incorporate relevant documents into program basis and inspection plans.
