Job summary

ENERCON is hiring a Mid-Level Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group. The role focuses on multi-discipline teams delivering I&C upgrades for nuclear plants, including PLCs, DCS, and safety systems. You will mentor juniors, guide design documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards while supporting field activities across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in design engineering of instrumentation and control systems; preferably nuclear power
• Experience with I&C design for BWR or PWR units, including turbine/feedwater controls and reactor protection
• Experience preparing, marking up, and reviewing design drawings and instrument data sheets
• Experience developing system requirements/procurement specifications and test procedures
• US Citizenship required; ability to travel ~10%

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering deliverables: drawings, calculations, analyses that meet and exceed codes and client expectations
• Create engineering documents that satisfy client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements
• Stay current with industry codes, safety practices, and advanced design techniques
• Deliver high-quality engineering solutions aligned with QA programs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated designs
• Provide field support on-site and verify that structures, systems, and components meet standards
