Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Mid-Level Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group. This role focuses on multi-discipline teams, developing and upgrading I&C systems for nuclear power plants with opportunities for leadership and mentoring.

Travel and US citizenship are required. Responsibilities include producing precise drawings and specifications, updating plant documentation, and providing field support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in design engineering of instrumentation and control systems; nuclear power preferred.
• Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls design for nuclear units (BWR/PWR) including turbine/feedwater controls, radiation monitoring, HVAC/chiller controls, reactor protection, plant process computers, and human system interfaces.
• Experience developing system requirements, procurement specifications, design descriptions/control narratives, test plans/procedures, and requirements traceability matrices.
• US Citizenship required; approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop precise drawings, calculations, and analyses that exceed industry codes and client expectations.
• Create engineering documents that meet or exceed client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with industry codes, safety culture, and advanced design techniques.
• Deliver quality engineering solutions aligned with QA programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce integrated designs.
• Provide field support on-site, including plant walkdowns and ensuring compliance.
