Job summary

System One in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Fuel Handling Electrical Design Engineer for a contract assignment. You will design electrical systems for fuel handling from requirements through final release, working remotely offsite with 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities include delivering diagrams, wiring and panel layouts, ensuring integration with plant infrastructure while applying IEEE/ NFPA/ NEC and nuclear standards such as IEEE 603 and ASME NQA-1.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience; nuclear industry preferred.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD tools and design documentation standards.
• Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience with ASME NQA-1 quality programs and nuclear codes (NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA and nuclear standards.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for fuel handling from requirements through final design release.
• Create deliverables: single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, cable schedules, grounding/bonding plans, instrumentation specs, interface control documents.
• Ensure integration of electrical with mechanical designs and plant infrastructure.
• Apply relevant codes and standards including IEEE, NFPA, NEC and nuclear requirements.
• Support procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning, including vendor coordination and design change management.
• Lead design reviews, hazard analyses, and system readiness reviews.
• Support FAT and SAT testing and verification activities.
