Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Fuel Handling Mechanical Design Engineer for a Bellevue, WA contract role. You will coordinate inputs from engineering and project teams, create CAD models, and develop drawings for nuclear equipment.

You will apply ASME GD&T (Y14.5M), perform analyses, review options, and collaborate with subcontractors to ensure design quality and manufacturability throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred; advanced degrees credited for experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review inputs and requirements to produce equipment and components design solutions.
• Provide planning and schedule input for design activities.
• Create CAD models optimized for anticipated future work and engineering drawings.
• Create engineering drawings applying ASME 14.1 and Y14.5 standards.
• Perform and review scoping analysis and calculations for design options.
• Interface with the team’s engineering analysis and testing activities.
• Present and review equipment and components design results for design reviews.
• Assess technical merit of solutions provided by team members and subcontractors, including leading design reviews.
• Interface with subcontractors, providing direction and assimilating their work.
• Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain high design quality.
