Job summary

Capgemini Engineering seeks a Senior Nuclear Electrical Power Systems Engineer to lead the design of FOAK energy utility or power plant systems with an emphasis on high reliability. The role is remote, ideally within the Eastern US time zone, supporting design teams across locations.

Responsibilities include system architecture, complex electrical studies with ETAP, and producing deliverables such as specs, load lists, calculations, and schematics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; PE licensure preferred.
• 7+ years in high-reliability industries such as nuclear or power.
• Experience with US NRC/CA-CNSC regulatory needs and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of safety-related electrical systems including MV/LV distribution.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, motor starting analyses; use ETAP per ANSI/IEC.
• Prepare deliverables: specs, load lists, diagrams, calculations, schematics.
• Develop procurement specs for transformers, switchgear, gensets, UPS.
• Navigate regulatory requirements and licensing processes for nuclear design.
• Interface with grid/DSOs for interconnection and ensure grid stability.
• Apply IEEE/IEC/NEC codes and related standards.
